As Project Assistant, Trainee, you will support our Project Managers across the different phases of strategic projects in Public Diplomacy and Strategic Communication. This traineeship, under a CIP (Convention d'Immersion Professionnelle) contract, is designed to give you hands-on exposure to project and bid management in an international, fast-paced environment, while building the practical skills needed for a career in international cooperation and communication.
You will work from our headquarters in Brussels, supporting colleagues who manage projects and contracts across a wide range of countries.

- Support the team with research and fact-finding for new project opportunities, focusing on EU foreign policy communication;
- Assist with proposal drafting, formatting, and compiling supporting documents;
- Help maintain and update our database of experts, clients, and partners;
- Contribute to a positive image of GOPA with key partners and stakeholders through professional day-to-day interactions.
- Provide administrative and logistical support to ongoing projects, including scheduling, note-taking, and document management;
- Assist with the coordination of communication and event-related activities under the guidance of a Project Manager;
- Support monitoring and reporting tasks to help projects stay on track;
- Help prepare materials for client meetings and represent GOPA professionally when involved in field or remote support.
A BACKGROUND THAT CONVINCES US
- A university degree in a related field, such as PR, Communication, Journalism, International Relations, Political Science, European Studies, Management, etc.;
- Eligibility for a CIP contract (please confirm your eligibility before applying);
- A genuine interest in EU policies, priorities, and foreign policy communication;
- Strong drafting and communication skills in English; a good command of French is desirable, while proficiency in other languages such as Arabic, Spanish or Russian is considered an asset;
- Interest or first exposure to business development activities (expert searching, proposal support) is a plus;
- Comfort with standard office tools; interest in emerging technologies, AI tools, and event management platforms is a plus;
- Good organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple small tasks at once;
- A strong team player in a multicultural, multilingual environment;
- Curiosity, a proactive attitude, and willingness to learn;
- A well-thought-out and written motivation letter.
