As a Project Assistant within the Governance department at GOPA PACE, you will play a crucial role in providing support for various project management tasks related to initiatives in the Governance sector, particularly in projects in Africa . This role is an entry-level opportunity ideal for candidates with a keen interest in project management and a willingness to learn.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES

Project support 
  • Assist in administrative and coordination tasks to support ongoing projects under the guidance of Project Managers and Senior Project Managers.
  • Aid in organizing project-related documentation, reports, and data management.
  • Support ongoing project management tasks such as invoice and timesheet handling, short-term expertise identification and mobilization, local account management, expense review, administrative tasks completion, and activity monitoring.
Collaboration and learning
  • Address standard problems following established procedures and documents while proactively flagging potential issues to the team.
  • Respond to routine requests for project management assistance from team members.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and discussions to gain insights into project management processes and workflows.
  • Receive guidance and mentorship from experienced team members to enhance project management skills.
Communication and liaison 
  • Assist in maintaining communication channels with stakeholders, experts, clients, and partners as directed by the project team.
  • Support in the preparation of materials for presentations, reports, and project-related communications.

Qualifications and skills 
  • Recent graduate or advanced student, preferably in fields such as Political Sciences, International Relations, EU studies, economics, law, sociology, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency (C2 level) in French and English is Mandatory. Knowledge of Spanish will be considered as an asset.
  • Knowledge of Spanish or other relevant languages would be an advantage. 
  • Demonstrated interest in the cooperation and development field.
  • Ability to effectively engage and establish positive relationships with individuals.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Resilience to work under stress and pressure within an international setting.
  • Proactive attitude towards problem-solving and task execution.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint), AI tools, Internet and database.
  • Eligible to work in Belgium
