To strengthen our team in Abidjan we are looking for a: Business Support Expert / Foreign Language Correspondent / Translator (m/f/d) English & French for our Business Support Team
We are a German consulting engineering company and a member of the GOPA Group, one of the leading consulting groups in Europe. Our primary areas of operation are in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. We offer a full-time position in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment, as part of our growing team based in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.
Your main tasks will be:
Support in Project Acquisition: Independently prepare pre-qualification documents, adapt standard texts, select relevant project references based on scope, draft key qualifications for experts, coordinate deadlines, and manage general correspondence in French and English.
Bid Preparation: Collaborate with the responsible technical manager on bid preparation, including contacting partners and subcontractors, screening donor platforms for specific requirements, and handling bid submission to the client. Take responsibility for supporting activities throughout the acquisition process.
Translation and Document Processing: Translate project documents to/from English and French and ensure accurate processing of project-related documents.
Deadline Management and Report Editing: Monitor deadlines closely and assist with the editing and quality control of reports.
Ongoing Correspondence: Maintain regular communication with donors, project partners, and other stakeholders.
General Organizational Tasks: Assist with various organizational tasks within the team/department as needed.
A BACKGROUND THAT CONVINCES US
Successful Academic Background: Degree in languages or a comparable qualification, such as international relations or international management.
Fluent in Business English and French: Proficiency in both written and spoken forms of English and French.
Experience in Translating Technical Texts: Ideally, experience with translating technical content.
Strong MS Office Skills: Confident use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with an intermediate to advanced level in Word.
Key Competencies: Strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks, flexibility, and an independent work style.
Relevant Professional Experience: Ideally, prior experience in project assistance or project coordination; however, this position is also open to young professionals.
Interest in International Development and Energy Topics: A genuine interest in contributing to projects in international development and the energy sector.
Ability to Work in an International Environment: Capable of working in an international environment, embracing different cultures and backgrounds
