As a Junior Project Manager within GOPA PACE's Peace & Security Department, you will play a vital role in supporting the Team in overseeing and facilitating project acquisition and implementation processes across multiple sectors related to Peace & Security promotion. Your responsibilities involve aiding in project acquisition, coordination, administrative tasks, communication with stakeholders, and contributing to the successful implementation of various initiatives. You will work in close collaboration with the other JPM of the PSEC department and under the direct supervision of the Senior Project Manager.

Acquisition and project support:
  • Support the Senior Project Manager in acquisition and project activities in key sectors of the department and more specifically on Conflict & Crisis Management, Resilience& Peace Building, Security Sector ReformMigration, and Displacement.
  • Take over acquisition and management tasks with a growing degree of autonomy, working with Framework Contracts (especially SEA 2022) as well as with Service Contracts and Grants.
  • Support in maintaining project documentation ,ensuring its accuracy and completeness.
  • Organizing meetings, taking minutes, and facilitating communication between project teams and stakeholders.
Assistance in project management:
  • Assist in monitoring project timelines and milestonesreporting any deviations to the Senior Project Manager.
  • Supporting quality assurance of project outcomes and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager in conducting field visits or monitoring missions as required.
Stakeholder communication:
  • Facilitate communication between project teamsstakeholders, and beneficiaries under the guidance of the Project Manager.
  • Assist in drafting correspondencesreports, and presentations as necessary.
  • Act as a liaison between different departments or teams involved in project activities. 
Administrative support:
  • Take over administrative tasks (with a growing degree of autonomy) related to project managementincluding procurementmonitoring of resources, and maintaining project databases.
  • Assist in organizing project-related events, workshops, or training sessions.
Sector specific collaboration:
  • Actively engage in learning and understanding various sectors within the department to support the Team in sector-specific matters.
  • Assist in identifying technical trendsmarket developments, and relevant updates within respective fields.

A BACKGROUND THAT CONVINCES US

  • Proactive and enthusiastic team player with keen interest in project management.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task and manage priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented approach with focus on accuracy and completeness in tasks.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts with clients and proven knowledge of EU PRAG requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degreepreferably in fields related to International Relations, Security StudiesPublic Policyor relevant disciplines.
  • Master’s degree or other postgraduate qualifications in relevant fields would be an asset.
  • Fluency in French and English is mandatory; German would be an asset.
  • Prior professional experience or internship within a private sector consultancy working in related fields is required
  • Previous experience with Framework Contracts (and namely SEA) would be a strong asset. 
  • Excellent communication skills.
